Karen Beerbower, MS, RD, LD, CEDRD, has proudly served the Orlando community for over 20 years as president of Nutritional Guidance, Inc. providing nutritional counseling services for all age groups. She earned her Masters’ degree in Medical Science and a pediatric fellowship from Indiana University School of Medicine. She spent several years helping develop Blue Horizon Eating Disorder Services, LLC., with the mission of providing a top quality Intensive Out-Patient (IOP) Program to the central Florida area. As Clinical Director for Blue Horizon, she regularly consults with treatment centers around the country and provides a needed step-down program for optimum patient care. A primary focus of her work is on the training of residents and physicians in treatment of those suffering with eating disorders.
Karen is the author of Setting Places and regularly writes articles for area publications. She enjoys contributing to radio and television segments throughout the community while maintaining a strong presence on the lecture circuit.
Karen has worked as a dietitian in numerous medical facilities and as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida and the University of Evansville. She is presently serving on the Board of Directors for iaedp. Karen is the past president and board member of the Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida as well as a member of both national and international dietetic and eating disorder organizations. Karen directs her professional dedication towards innovative and compassionate leadership in patient care.
