MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CERTIFICATION
Our certification processes generally involve professional education, supervised experience, and presentation of a case study. Highly experienced individuals may qualify through Unique Pathways. The specific requirements are located in the checklists below.

Education
The educational component includes completion of our Core Course Curriculum and Certification Exam. You have 2 options for completing core courses: at our annual symposium (when in session) or year-round via our learning platform. If you have any questions or require testing accommodations, please contact us.
Professional education in the field is an ongoing process. As such we require continuing education related to eating disorders at the time of certification and during each renewal cycle. You may come to symposium to obtain more CE credits required for certification or use a CE provider of your choice.

Supervised Experience
You will work with an iaedp-Approved supervisor for consultation. You may want to work with someone from your local chapter or search for a supervisor anywhere in the world who matches particular experiences or populations. Current supervisors will verify hours directly in iaedp’s Certification Application Platform. Alternately, if you have lost contact with your supervisor and/or need to manually submit supervision documentation, please email the certification staff. Use the links below to assist you in the process. Certification@iaedp.com

Case Study
You will prepare a case study that shows your competency in the care of eating disordered individuals. Generally, it is expected that you can address all aspects of diagnosis, case conceptualization, course of treatment and self-reflection.
Other Requirements
You will request 3 letters of recommendation from providers who know your work. Please be aware that iaedp’s Certification Application Platform will assign recommenders a supervisor account. However, unless otherwise notified, this does not indicate iaedp-approved Supervisor status.
Your membership must be current at the time of application. Sign into the member portal to renew.
The above list is an overview of requirements. Please review the checklists to ensure that you complete all your required steps.
MORE INFORMATION ABOUT BECOMING AN IAEDP-APPROVED SUPERVISOR
Once you are a CEDS and have had some experience with consultation, you may want to apply to become a supervisor. You will want to review and complete the supervisor training program and test, Leading by Example, either in symposium or in self-study. Complete details to apply to become an iaedp-Approved supervisor can be found below.
