MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CERTIFICATION
There are specific application requirements for certification. An overview of the process and a checklist can be downloaded (Click Here). We welcome our international applicants. Please see additional guidance here. A cost worksheet is also available to plan your certification process ( Click Here ). Please read the materials thoroughly and have all the documentation ready to be uploaded in your application.
You have 2 options for completing core courses: at our annual symposium or via our Online Institute.
You may come to symposium to obtain more CE credits required for certification or use a CE provider of your choice. You will obtain additional CE credits related to eating disorders from an education provider of your choice.
You will work with an iaedp-Approved supervisor for consultation. You may want to work with someone from your local chapter or search for a supervisor (Click Here ).Current supervisors will verify hours directly in our Certemy portal. Alternately, if you have lost contact with your supervisor and/or need to manually submit supervision documentation, please email certification@iaedp.com. There are Guidelines for Supervision and a sample log available to assist you in this process.
You will prepare and take your Certification Exam . If you require testing accommodations, please contact the certification staff and provide documentation to certification@iaedp.com.
You will request 3 letters of recommendation from providers who know your work.
You will prepare a case study that shows your competency in the carehere of eating disordered individuals. Guidelines for the case study are available here.
Your membership must be current at the time of application. Sign in to the Member Portal to renew.
The above list is an overview of requirements. Please review the checklist to ensure that you complete all your required steps.
More Information about Becoming a Supervisor
Once you are a CEDS and have had some experience with consultation, you may want to apply to become a supervisor. You will want to review and complete the supervisor training program and test, Leading by Example either in symposium or in self-study. You will need to have 3 letters of recommendation that speak to your ability to supervise. Complete details to apply to become an iaedp-Approved supervisor can be found in this checklist. The application for supervisor is found on our Certemy application page. More information about iaedp-Approved supervisor responsibilities can be located (Click Here).
What to do with your new credential
Your credential lets others know the work you have done to become highly trained in eating disorders care. Feel free to use these marketing templates: Certified Member or iaedp-Approved Supervisors . Someone from our Membership Team will be updating your membership page to verify that you are certified and/or a supervisor. Our membership directory is searchable by members and the public. Expect an email with badge information from Credly’s Acclaim. You will be able to download a certification there as well. Finally, if you have not already done so, please join one of our chapters and help share what you know.
What to do when its time to renew certification
Recertification occurs every 2 years and can be done through our Certemy app . You will need to obtain 20 CEs related to eating disorders and participate in the iaedp symposium every other renewal cycle. Symposium can be attended virtually.
How do I manage my certification INFORMATION?
You will continue to use our membership page to renew your membership, update your directory listing and pay for membership renewal, workshops and symposium (Click Here). You can download your CEDS certificate in Certemy. In addition, you can upload your CE certificates at any time for storage for the next renewal cycle. Employers can verify your credential on Certemy.
WHAT IF YOU ARE A HIGHLY EXPERIENCED PROVIDER ?
