Checklist for Renewal

Download renewal form and fill out completely
Attach all required documentation including proof of continuing education
Sign the document in all required places (2)
Your membership dues must be current as a requisite for certification renewal. Click here to renew your membership.
Attach a check or a credit card authorization for applicable fees
Keep a copy for your records and mail, email or fax the packet along with the required fee to the iaedp office.

IMPORTANT: Certification Renewal will not be valid until all requisites are complete and turned in. Late fees will apply until the renewal is properly and completely submitted.

The initial designations are granted for a period of two years.  Thereafter, those who wish to continue to officially carry these designations must apply for and be granted renewals.  The designation may be recalled if three months has elapsed since expiration and the Applicant for Renewal of Certification has not been properly submitted.

Those who apply and submit a complete renewal package later than the date of the expiration of their current designation or submit an incomplete renewal package and do not submit the additional documentation prior to the expiration deadline are subject to a late fee, added to the renewal fee.  If more than one year has elapsed since expiration the applicant will be subject to reinstatement fee in addition to renewal fee.

If more than one year has elapsed since expiration, the applicant must submit a complete application as if applying for the first time.  In some cases, exceptions may be made because of hardship, but certified persons must notify the Association of the hardship at the time it occurs, rather than waiting until the grace period has elapsed.

Re-Certification Requirements

 1. Satisfactory functioning as a CEDS or CEDSN, free of departures from violations of their profession's or of the American Psychological Association ethics code (depending upon which code applies), criminal convictions, or just cause for termination of the certification/designation.

2. Submission of a completed Application Form for Renewal of Certification, along with the Application fee and supporting documentation.

3. Satisfactory completion of 20 hours of Continuing Education in Eating Disorders or closely related topics (as defined in Section IV.F), approved by the Association, during the previous period of certification and/or designation.

Attendance at an iaedp™ Symposium once every four year period is required.
