IMPORTANT: Certification Renewal will not be valid until all requisites are complete and turned in. Late fee will apply for one month after the expiration date until the renewal is properly and completely submitted. After a late period of one month, the certification is subject to termination of the certification unless the certification committee has approved an extended late period due to a medical or family emergency.

The initial designations are granted for a period of two years.  Thereafter, those who wish to continue to officially carry these designations must apply for and be granted renewals.  The designation may be recalled if one month has elapsed since expiration and the Applicant for Renewal of Certification has not been properly submitted, unless pre-approval by the Certification Committee because of a family or medical emergency has been granted.
Those who apply and submit a complete renewal package within the 30 days after the date of the expiration of the current designation or submit an incomplete renewal package and do not submit the additional documentation within the 30 days after the expiration date are subject to a late fee, added to the renewal fee.

Those who apply and submit a complete renewal package later than the date of the expiration of their current designation or submit an incomplete renewal package and do not submit the additional documentation prior to the expiration deadline are subject to a late fee, added to the renewal fee.  If more than one year has elapsed since expiration the applicant will be subject to reinstatement fee in addition to renewal fee.

If more than one year has elapsed since expiration, the applicant must submit a complete application as if applying for the first time.  In some cases, exceptions may be made because of hardship, but certified persons must notify the Association of the hardship at the time it occurs, rather than waiting until the grace period has elapsed.
