SUPERVISION AND CASE CONSULTATION
iaedp redesigned its certification program to insure that certified members are able to demonstrate knowledge, experience and practical training through expertise to assure competence in treating the full spectrum of eating disorders.
Requests for supervision and continued education have been strengthened as well. It is iaedp's view that those who provide supervision to our members must confirm their own extensive experience and training in this field.
Candidates for certification now are required to have iaedp approved supervisors*; and our practical need for consultation and supervision does not stop once certification is issued. Practice problems and questions persist throughout our work years, long after certification has been earned, licenses been issued, and practices developed.
*The Certification Committee reviews the qualifications of professionals who are not iaedp Approved Supervisors providing supervision to candidates . To apply for this exception, email your request to iaedpmembers@earthlink.net.
