MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CERTIFICATION

Our certification processes generally involve professional education, supervised experience, and presentation of a case study. Highly experienced individuals may qualify through Unique Pathways.  The specific requirements are located in the checklists below.

Education

The educational component includes completion of our Core Course Curriculum and Certification Exam. You have 2 options for completing core courses: at our annual symposium (when in session) or year-round via our learning platform. If you have any questions or require testing accommodations, please contact us.

Professional education in the field is an ongoing process.  As such we require continuing education related to eating disorders at the time of certification and during each renewal cycle. You may come to symposium to obtain more CE credits required for certification or use a CE provider of your choice.

Supervised Experience

You will work with an iaedp-Approved supervisor for consultation. You may want to work with someone from your local chapter or search for a supervisor anywhere in the world who matches particular experiences or populations.  Current supervisors will verify hours directly in iaedp’s Certification Application Platform. Alternately, if you have lost contact with your supervisor and/or need to manually submit supervision documentation, please email the certification staff. Use the links below to assist you in the process.  Certification@iaedp.com

You will request 3 letters of recommendation from providers who know your work. Please be aware that iaedp’s Certification Application Platform will assign recommenders a supervisor account.  However, unless otherwise notified, this does not indicate iaedp-approved Supervisor status.
